Robert Phillips Scam Artist

Name: Robert Phillips
Email: Honest12@fresnomail.com
Creep Factor: Very High. Scam artist pulls hearing impared card!

Glad to have found this site. I posted an ad for two chairs on CL this morning, and got a response from a Robert Phillips, with an email address of Honest12@fresnomail.com. Anyone who feels the need to advertise themselves as 'honest' becomes immediately suspicious, lol! Needless to say, I deleted and blocked ol' Bob. He also had the nerve to tell me he's hard of hearing, and thusly was unable to speak over a telephone connection.

I got a message from Robert Phillips (first email said Hamilton48) honestsoul3310@gmail.com
After expressing interest and telling us he is hearing impaired (that doesnt make you incapable of picking the item up yourself?) he wrote "I was made to understand that instead of the actual amount for the item, the bank made out check for $2,500. The payment was already posted...all you do once you have the payment is to take it to your bank and have it cashed and you will then deduct the money for your goods plus a $100 (the cost of running around). The excess fund on the payment will then be wired to my mover via
western union that same day" I wrote back and said deals off, and if you send someone to my house, I'm calling the police! How ridiculous! Carlos & Stephanie Aurora, IL

I just received several emails from him in regards to some of my son's used baby clothes we are selling. The emails read almost exactly the same as everyone else's do. I'm so glad something in my gut told me to check this guy out.

I just received an email from this person as well after posting on Craigslist. This time he is using the name "Robert Dash" and the email address Honestsoul3310@gmail.com

He sent the same message though: "Hello, I'm Robert, I am satisfied with the description and condition of the item listed above by you on the Ad, Please let me know if the piece is still available for sale and kindly attach more pictures if available. I have a problem talking on phone because I'm hearing impaired I look forward to hearing from you soon. Robert.."

I also got another from a "Richard Burrows" from the email address: rich.bull@live.com
He said: "Hi....
I will like to proceed with payment asap and will like to handle shipment myself when you must have gotten your cash at hand. I am in no rush to pick up the item till funds are clear at the bank. My mode of payment will be via Bank Certified Check. I will need your name and address with valid phone number to send the check to you.Kindly delete
the advert of this item if my mode of payment is accepted. I will await your email asap. Please provide your phone number!and i will be offering you $100 to your asking price so please get back to me with the asking price so i can send the check. Thanks"

Spread the word on this guy too. One by one we will expose them all!
Thank you for posting this information on the scammers. I too am glad I did a google search on "Robert's" email address and found this information. Great Job!

I'm also glad I found this article, as I had the same thing happened to me, the last couple days. Except this person's name was Ted Smith, email of HonestSoul3310@gmail.com. I was selling a curio cabinet. Same story here, he was also hearing impaired & could not speak on the phone, as well, wanted to to take a mistakenly drawn check he sent for $1500 & asked that I cash at my bank & keep $200 & the rest would be wired to movers. Uh yeah, right, I didn't fall for it!! It sounds fishy from the beginning, they must think people are very stupid.

Glad I found this article, as I had the exact same thing/email happen to me. This was from Ted Smith, HonestSoul3310@gmail.com. Beware of these people! They must think everyone is stupid, but the last laugh is on them.

Same thing happened to me, on the sale of pice of furniture, from a Ted Smith, honestsoul3310@gmail.com & a Nicole Wilson, life4realxxx@yahoo.com. I have reported both people to the police & also blocked them. What losers! Glad I found this website.
