Hey - Thanks for this post! I've been in contact with this "Lauretta Coronado" for an item I'm selling in Boston. Complete with the "I am completely satisfied with the advert and the payment will be delivered within 2-3 working days.** I use a hearing impaired phone #8099665256 and will receive your calls via email **"

Any suggestions? Should I ignore her, report her, or...? Thanks.

Hey - Thanks for this post. I happen to be in contact with this Lauretta Coronado person for an item here in boston. She's using the whole trick, exactly as you described.

Any suggestions for how to deal with it? Just ignore, or report her? Thanks!

I received an email from her yesterday stating she wanted to buy my couch and recliner listed on Craigslist. I wrote her back asking when she would like to pick it up and she repsonded with the exact email as posted. I had a bad feeling because her last name changed slightly on her first and second email. It changed from Coronado to Colorado. I told my boyfriend something wasn't right because people don't commonly misspell their own name! I responded back to her but I didn't answer her questions. I stated I wanted payment in person, not mailed and I wasn't removing my listing from Craigslist until I was paid and furniture was picked up. I also ask her if she lived in the town I live in, trying to get info out of her. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFO. I had a bad feeling in my gut so I decided to google her name and I found several websites related to her name and scams. PLEASE be aware at all times and if you have a bad feeling, don't go through with it. Does anyone know what type of scam they are running?

I have been contacted by a Kelvin Hunt with the same email. I felt sorry for him with being "hearing impaired"- luckily something in my gut said do not go any further - after giving my name - what a mistake that was. I am keeping all emails and have reported this to Craigslist, the FTC and will notify my local police.

Please be aware and always google the phone number !!!!
